Can you guys believe how quickly this summer has flown by? Me neither. So far, it is my favourite time of the year in London. Because, you can be all bare shoulders during the day, but more likely will need some layers for early mornings and late nights. I cannot wait for a fall/winter transitioning and if there’s one trend we should be paying close attention to this season, it’s the statement sleeves and power shoulders.
Starting shy in 2018 sleeves and shoulders have evolved to even more exaggerated levels in 2019. They got puffier, bolder, edgier, structured and generally day to day norm which most of us has adopted quite quickly. Whats not to like? A pair of basic jeans combined with puffy sleeve top potentially can take you from lunch to fancy dinner.
Fashion weeks have just started and a very first one in New York is already giving us statement shoulder vibes on nearly every Runway show. By the likes of Carolina Herrera, Prabal Gurung, Khaite, Tory Burch, Deveaux, just to name a few, the outfits are being elevated with bold shoulders in SS20 collections just as they were in FW19. And I am sure there are more to come from Paris and Milan! It’s official – padded power suits and pouffed giant sleeves are taking over the town!

I have always adored uncomplicated outfits: sweater plus jeans – quick and easy! And although this pairing is super simple, the right sweater will elevate your outfit to perfection! That’s why statement shoulder/sleeve trend makes me super happy. Easy to pull off, chic and doesn’t compromise the comfort. Nowadays it can be found in every shape of form: sweaters, blouses, blazers, dresses. Just pick yours! But do not downsize your clothes. Shoulders and sleeves are meant to look big!
Below I have listed some items that I am eyeing for upcoming fall/winter season.
