It is no brainer anymore – Power suit is a staple in every woman’s wardrobe these days. However, if you are late to the party it is about time to catch up. What I like most about the power suit is it’s practicality. There are so many ways to wear it, and good news are that we no longer associate it with the office only. Parties, events, even weekends – we wear it casually and we dress it up.

When I think of a Power Suit 5-10 years back, I suddenly get that corporate creepy feeling. Ladies in stiff and tight black corporate suits high heeled to heaven. Being part of this environment for 10+ years made me like it so much less. I am dreading any fitted black blazer unless it is Balenciaga bell bottom like. However, I thank fashion evolution for turning Power suits into something you can actually wear outside of the office, because they are just that awesome!
Power suits now come in colour, in neutral tones or bold prints. Relaxed, boxy, oversized. Catering for every taste, body shape and occasion. My moto is to buy one or two power suits a year. One for Autum Winter season, another one for Spring Summer which should definitely be colourful. This season I picked up a masculine looking relaxed suit in black! Why black? Well after all the colour extravaganza we’ve been going on for years I get the feeling that this season is totally about darker and neutral shades. And looking from practicality point of view – you can do so much with this suit if you cut it in half.

The trousers cater for every knit and shirt that I can find in my wardrobe. And blazer… I think it is almost pointless for me to state the obvious. But I will. We wear it with denim, any pair of trousers, short, long skirts and sometimes with biker shorts that we grown to love so much. And finally throwing oversized blazer over the shoulders of a party dress will give you that modern look and keep you warm-ish until you reach the location.
Stay warm, be power!
