The Best Face Moisturisers On My Books

The best face moisturisers

Since majority of us are stuck at home with central heating and questionable ventilation nowadays, looking after the skin quickly became even more important thing to do. Good face moisturisers are probably the most important part of my skincare regime. And so, I keep my eyes peeled for something new and exciting to improve the routine.

It is a rare occasion where I buy same beauty products more than twice. Not because there is something wrong with them, but because there are so many more to discover. I always get carried away in the beauty isles of Harrods, lured by flashing lights and aesthetically pleasing counters. My heart rate is rising and my affordability levels rise despite of my personal spending limits. Although I did set them up prior entering the store.

I usually visit the store when I am buying new skincare, because I like all the story that beauty consultants can tell me and rise my hopes up to finding that magic product . Also, I get a chance to test it, so I know what I am getting myself into. And I enjoy research and trial process way too much.

So, I put together a quick round up of my favourite face moisturisers that I use now, used in the past and will use in the future again.

The best face moisturisers

1. Dior Hydra Life Hydration Rescue – Intense Sorbet Creme. My ultimate all year rounder when I need that extra intense hydration boost, regardless of how irritated my skin feels from time to time. It calms my skin if it’s having a bad day. Personally, I prefer to use it over night and sometimes during the day in winter. Psst! I always have it my cupboard and find myself repurchasing over and over again.

2. Dior Hydra Life Fresh Reviver Sorbet Water Mist. Since I liked the face cream so much, that only made sense to try out the mist. Long story short – it became my daily handbag essential. And yes, this mist can be sprayed over the make up. Which makes it impossible not to stay hydrated throughout the day.

3. Clinique Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator. Absolute summer favourite. Especially during those really hot days when my skin, all over sudden, turns from dry to combination. This cream is light, yet very hydrating and sinks-in in seconds. Found guilty for buying this every summer.

4. Sisley Black Rose Skin Infusion Cream. Despite that delicious scent is , especially if you like roses, it turns the skin into silk overnight. I admit, I haven’t purchased full size tub yet, but Sisley’s sales consultant gave me a bunch of testers which lasted quite a while. And now it is firmly on my “when I get paid” list now.

5. Sisley SisleYouth Anti-Pollution Moisturiser. I am well aware I spend too much time in front of the screen, hence I didn’t think twice before purchasing this one. It is difficult to measure the effectiveness, because I don’t use it on its own. I layer small amount after my my regular skincare routine in the morning. But I want to believe that my face skin is protected from blue light and London pollution. What I like the most is its texture, because it sets smooth base for the make up.

6. Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream Treat & Transform Moisturiser. Winter is nearly over, but I know what I am buying once the cold is back. I love to use this one as my daytime moisturiser in autumn/winter months, because it prevents my skin drying out under the foundation. It is very rich, so definitely not suitable for oily skin. But for those with the very dry skin it has a potential to become the best friend all year round.

7. Sisley Hydra-Global Serum. Okay, it is not a moisturiser, but I wanted to slip this one in, because it is super hydrating and it is anti-ageing. With the ageing or simply very busy lifestyle, or a bit of both, skin can start to feel dull. I was keen to try hydra-global serum for a while now and I can’t stress enough, how much I liked it. After the first try, I woke up with the softest skin ever and bye bye dry patches. So now I use it for day and night, before I find something even more magical for the night routine.
